There are a lot of pressures in our lives. It helps to know how you'd react if someone asked you to do something you weren't comfortable with.
You may be offered drugs by a friend. This is tricky because if one of your friends starts smoking pot or drinking, it might feel weird not to. But friends don't have to agree on everything.
What you say and how you handle things is up to you
"Let's smoke a bit and do a little off-roading."
Nah. That stuff slows your reaction time. And I really don't need to wrap my car around a tree.
"Wanna smoke?"
Nah, I'm good. I'm not into that stuff.
"Let's smoke."
Nah, My mom has better senses than a drug-sniffing dog.
"Let's get high."
No thanks, if I wanted some I would have asked for it.
"Man, you should drink up or smoke a little before you work it with Karen. It will make things go smoother."
Nah, she'll think I'm an idiot if I'm high and stumbling over my words.
"I'm using steroids to bulk up for the big game. You should try it."
Nah! That stuff makes your testicles shrink up.
"I hate studying. Let's just copy off someone. The teacher will never catch us."
No thanks. I'm just gonna study a bit longer.
"Want a hit?"
No way, that's just an expensive bag of cancer.
"I snagged my younger brother's Ritalin. Want some?"
Nah, that stuff is bad.
"I'm bored. Let's go to the mall and see what we can swipe."
Stealing is so shady. If I got caught, I'd never get a job in any of those stores — they do background checks.
"Guess what? That guy asked me to smoke with him. So I did. Now he wants me to bring my friends over. Will you come?"
No, thanks – I'm not into that. Besides, there are tons of people in here to hang with.
"It's your birthday. You've got some major drinking to do."
No thanks. I'd actually like to remember my birthday.
